George Glenn is born and, though nobody knows about it, this marks a major change in human history.
12.21
People fearing the apocalypse, due to the end of the Mayan calendar, start rioting worldwide, causing many deaths. The bloody conflagration is queled within a few short days.
A.D. 2028
End of the Anno Domini Calendar As petroleum resources run out, and environmental pollution worsens, a worldwide economic collapse ensues. The world's nations form economic blocs, and the planet becomes divided into a handful of major powers. The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America(SPPNA) is formed. Around this same time the SPPNA completes its military headquarters in Alaska, known as the JOSH-A base. The South America Defense Alliance(SADA) is formed in response to the formation of the SPPNA and conflicts quickly break out over resources. Ethnic and religious strife, conflicts between the SPPNA and the SADA, and diminishing resources are all factors that lead to a global conflict known as the Reconstruction War. At this same time, the Type S influenza virus spreads throughout the world. Disease and war produce massive casualties.
C.E. 1
Nuclear weapons are employed on the front lines of central Asia, in the Kashmir region.
C.E. 4
George Glenn is nominated for a Nobel Prize.
C.E. 5
After an extremely bloody escalation, both the SPPNA and SADA go for a final push in the conflict. This results in several million casualties, as well as almost complete crippling of both sides military and economic power. SPPNA and SADA call for a ceasefire and further military action between the two is limited. George Glenn enlists in the military.
C.E. 9
The Reconstruction War ends. The previous national order has been radically changed. The previous Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America becomes the Atlantic Federation(AF), while the South America Defense Alliance becomes the United States of South America(USSA). Following this trend, the previous European Union becomes the Eurasian Federation(EF) and the Sino Alliance renames itself the Republic of East Asia(REA). The United Nations(UN) formally adopts the Cosmic Era calendar and announces a new space development program. Construction of the space station Yggdrasil, which had been interrupted by the global war, resumes at Lagrange Point 1.
C.E. 10
The space colony plan begins in earnest, and a space industry arises to exploit the new frontier. Construction of the lunar city of Copernicus begins. George Glenn becomes an employee of the Atlantic Federation's Federal Aeronautics and Space Administration (FASA). The Atlantic Federation establishes the Federal Space Force (FSF). The Eurasian Federation and the Republic of East Asia follow suit.
C.E. 11
The space station Yggdrasil is completed.
C.E. 12
The lunar city, Copernicus is completed. FASA launches a Jupiter exploration project and announces the development of the exploration ship Tsiolkovsky. George Glenn is to be the ship's chief designer, and the space station Yggdrasil will serve as the construction site.
C.E. 13
The Eurasian Federation Secretly begins construction on a colony at L2 area using forced labor. 10,000 workers are sent to the construction zone to work on the new agricultural space facility. Conditions are poor, and the workers all turn to a fellow worker by the name of Kyo Matsuichi for leadership and guidance
C.E. 15
The exploration ship Tsiolkovsky is completed. George Glenn's Confession. As George Glenn departs for Jupiter aboard the Tsiolkovsky, he reveals the existence of Coordinators, and releases the necessary genetic engineering techniques onto the worldwide network. The world is thrown into chaos by these events. In the name of environmental protection, the pressure group Blue Cosmos declares itself adamantly opposed to Coordinator technology.
C.E. 16
An international conference is held to discuss the Coordinator controversy. A protocol on genetic modification is adopted, totally prohibiting the manipulation of human genes. Nonetheless, some wealthy individuals secretly have their children turned into Coordinators.
C.E. 17
A hospital in Chicago which has secretly been creating coordinators, is set ablaze. Blue Cosmos is rumored to be involved.
Construction of the Porta Panama Mass Driver begins in Central America.
C.E. 18
The Colony in L2 is completed and the Labor force Brought there is kept on the colony. The Eurasian Federation brings the families of the original laborers to work on the colony as well. Shortly thereafter, the Eurasian Federation establishes a millitary presence on the colony to keep the labor force in line.
C.E. 21
Construction of the Habilis Mass Driver begins on the shore of Lake Victoria in Africa.
C.E. 22
The Tsiolkovsky reaches Jupiter and discovers the fossil known as Evidence 01. The world is again thrown into chaos, and FASA orders the Tsiolkovsky to bring back the fossil. Siegel Clyne, a Coordinator, is born in secrecy in the Kingdom of Scandinavia.
C.E. 23
More Coordinator children are secretly born in the Atlantic Federation and other nations of Earth. Patrick Zala is among those born in the Atlantic Federation.
The Eurasian Federation starts using the L2 colony to dump political prisoners and their families to bolster their workforce. The colony starts to get crowded and living conditions worsen further.
C.E. 29
George Glenn returns from Jupiter with Evidence 01. The fossil is taken to the Zodiac research colony at Lagrange Point 5 for detailed examination.
C.E. 30
The world's religious authorities gather at the Palestine Conference, but are unable to reach any conclusions, and their influence begins to wane. Tolerance for Coordinators spreads throughout the world, and the first Coordinator boom begins.
The space industry heats up, and construction of numerous space colonies begins at Lagrange point 4. The Orb Union begins construction of the Kaguya Mass Driver and the resource satellite Heliopolis.
C.E. 31
Restrictions previously placed on George Glenn are lifted, and he begins examining Evidence 01 at the Zodiac research colony. The colony's extraterrestrial research organization expands into a huge research facility.
In the hopes of hiding their actions from the world, the Eurasian Federation decides to dispose of the L2 colony, which has a standing population 1.9 million, in a colony meant to hold only a fourth of that. The colony inhabitants rebel, killing the entire garrison. They proceed afterward to use the colony's attitude thrusters to take the colony deeper into space, leaving the Earth Sphere behind. The events of the incident are covered up by the Eurasian Federation, who lack the resorces to chase after it. The colonials declare loyalty to Kyo Matsuichi, who organized their escape, and declare him their ruler. He takes the colony into high orbit of Jupiter due to the rich resources found there.
C.E. 35
The Atlantic Federation establishes a lunar military base in the Ptolemaeus Crater, drawing international condemnation, and unveils its first series of mobile armors. Earth's major powers begin a space arms race, and the Eurasian Federation begins the construction of Artemis.
C.E. 38
The Zodiac research colony is further expanded. George Glenn announces his concept for a new type of space colony, and construction of these new colonies begins. This project is funded mainly by the Atlantic Federation, the Eurasian Federation, and the Republic of East Asia. The new L5 colony cluster is to be managed by representatives of these "sponsor nations".
C.E. 39
The L2 colony arrives in orbit of Jupiter, but the 8 years of travel have seen another population increase, and construction on a entire colony cluster begins, bringing about the rise of the Jovian Empire.
C.E. 40
The first generation of Coordinators, born in secrecy, reach maturity and begin to excel in every scientific, artistic, and athletic field. The differences between Coordinators and Naturals thus become very clear, and critical voices emerge.
C.E. 41
Marriages among first-generation Coordinators produce a purebred second generation, who soon prove to have inherited their parents' abilities.
Due to fear of attack, as well as a general loathing of the Earth Sphere governments, a ship of covert operatives are sent back to the Earth sphere to infiltrate societies; their mission is to gather advanced technology and, if possible, bring more settlers who are dissatisfied with Earth's governments to bolster their numbers.
C.E. 42
The Jovian Empire rediscovers Planet X and decide to send an expedition.
C.E. 43
Several of the first Coordinators participate in the construction of new colonies at Lagrange Point 5. Patrick Zala and Siegel Clyne are among them. The two meet for the first time.
C.E. 44
The first ten space colonies (later known as Aprilius City) of the new L5 cluster are completed. These colonies, dubbed PLANTs, are intended to serve as large-scale production sites. The one thing they don't make is food, which the PLANTs are strictly prohibited from producing and which must be imported entirely from Earth.
C.E. 45
The estimated Coordinator population now exceeds ten million.
Construction continues on more PLANT colony clusters at L5, forming other 'cities'. Anti-Coordinator organizations begin carrying out acts of terrorism against the PLANTs. Since they have no political autonomy and are thoroughly demilitarized, the PLANTs are unable to defend themselves, and the Coordinators working in the PLANTs become increasingly dissatisfied.
C.E. 46
The Jovian Empire begins its population initiative to increase their numbers; soon, the pregnancy and birthrates skyrocket, increasing the population dramatically
12.30
The expedition from the Jovian Empire arrives at Planet X and is never heard from again. The Jovian Epire Decides to discontinue exploration efforts to Planet X.
C.E. 50
In order to obtain autonomy and trading independence for the PLANTs, several Coordinators in the PLANTs form the political organization known as the Zodiac Alliance(ZA), Patrick Zala and Siegel Clyne are among this group. They begin working to abolish food production restrictions and secure self-defense rights for the PLANTs, but their efforts are suppressed by the sponsor nations, and the Zodiac Alliance goes underground.
C.E. 53
George Glenn is assassinated. It is rumored that Blue Cosmos is behind this incident. A PLANT Supreme Council is formed, made up of representatives from each of the PLANT cities.
Kyo Matsuichi dies; his son Shiro Matsuichi takes the throne at the age of 19.
C.E. 54
The Type S influenza mutates, rendering existing vaccines useless, and a Type S2 influenza outbreak begins. Rumors spread that Coordinators created this virus to exterminate the Naturals and avenge George Glenn.
C.E. 55
Religious authorities claim that the Type S2 outbreak is a divine punishment, and public opinion again turns against genetic modification. The Torino Protocol is adopted, and genetic modification is once again prohibited anywhere on Earth. Anti-Coordinator sentiments increase among the Naturals.
As the damage caused by the Type S2 outbreak mounts, riots break out. The GARM R&D research facility at the Mendel colony is attacked by an armed group which claims to be Blue Cosmos.
First Great Coordinator Migration. A Type S2 influenza vaccine is successfully developed in the PLANTs, and delivery of the vaccine to Earth's surface begins. Nonetheless, anti-Coordinator sentiments remain strong, and Coordinators remaining on Earth begin leaving for space.
C.E. 57
The space forces of the Atlantic Federation, the Eurasian Federation, and the Republic of East Asia establish a military presence at Langrange Point 5, around the PLANTs. This combined force is the predecessor to the later Earth Alliance Forces.
C.E. 58
Siegel Clyne and Patrick Zala, members of the underground Zodiac Alliance group, are elected to serve on the PLANT Supreme Council. Meanwhile, the Zodiac Alliance remains active and continues to attract more sympathizers. Uzumi Nara Athha becomes chief representative of the Orb Union.
C.E. 60
The PLANTs become major sources of Earth's energy and manufactured goods. The sponsor nations continue to reap ever greater benefits, and impose ever heavier quotas on the PLANTs. Meanwhile, other nations grow increasingly resentful of the sponsor nations' monopoly profits.
C.E. 61
After surviving a terrorist attack by an anti-Coordinator organization within the PLANTs, Patrick Zala becomes concerned with his families safety and sends his son to attend a preparatory school at the lunar city, Copernicus.
C.E. 62
23,473 settlers arrive in the ever-expanding Jovian Empire from the Earth Sphere, sent back by covert operatives to help with population growth.
C.E. 63
The PLANTs' energy production department is destroyed by an act of terrorism carried out by Blue Cosmos. The PLANT Supreme Council proposes a temporary suspension of exports, but the sponsor nations reject the suggestion, sending the PLANTs into a severe energy crisis. When the PLANTs' engineers carry out a coordinated sabotage campaign, the sponsor nations respond by threatening the PLANTs with their fleet of mobile armors. Within the PLANTs, calls for autonomy grow louder. Siegel Clyne and Patrick Zala, key members of the Zodiac Alliance serving on the PLANT Supreme Council, are elected as council leaders. Research into the military applications of mobile suits begins.
C.E. 65
The first prototype mobile suit is secretly rolled out. The Zodiac Alliance steps up its activities and attracts more sympathizers, changing its name to the Zodiac Alliance of Freedom Treaty (ZAFT).
C.E. 67
The ZGMF-1017 GINN, the first fully functional mobile suit, is completed. A section of Maius City is secretly converted and begins production of mobile suits.
C.E. 68
Siegel Clyne is elected as chairman of the PLANT Supreme Council. The PLANT Supreme Council, now dominated by ZAFT members, votes to make autonomy and trading independence its highest priorities. The sponsor nations respond with a show of armed force, but the PLANTs carry out a military expansion of their own, and a standoff ensues. Second Great Coordinator Migration. Blue Cosmos grows in strength. Its ranks expand to the hundreds of thousands, and persecution of Coordinators living on Earth intensifies. As a result, almost all Coordinators emigrate to the PLANTs. The PLANT Supreme Council Chairman, Siegel Clyne, makes secret arrangements to exchange imports of food and exports of manufactured goods with the United States of South America(USSA) and the Oceania Union(OU). Learning of these arrangements, the sponsor nations demand the dismissal of the Chairman Clyne, the dissolution of the PLANT Supreme Council, and the complete renunciation of autonomy for the PLANTs. These demands are rejected by the PLANTs. In response to the Mandelbrot Incident, ZAFT is reorganized under Patrick Zala's leadership, and combined with the PLANTs' domestic security operations to become a military organization equipped with mobile suits. A biohazard breaks out inside the Mendel colony at Lagrange point 4. Numerous casualties ensue, and the colony is abandoned, then sterilized with a massive bombardment of X-rays. The involvement of Blue Cosmos is rumored. Patrick Zala calls his son back from Copernicus.
C.E. 66
Some of the younger generations born in the Jovian Empire start exhibiting strange abilities, giving them the ability to compete aginst coordinators in various fields. Showing great potential, these individuals are called "Newtypes," and research into their potential begins.
C.E. 68
Shiro Matsuichi uses public opinion and fear to begin a buildup of millitary armaments, as he plans to expand his Empire by conquring the Earth Sphere. Many people, including parliament, rally behind his cause, as he claims the invasion will bring peace and unity under his throne to all mankind.
C.E. 69
Chairman Clyne orders PLANTs seven through ten of Junius City remodeled for agricultural production. The sponsor nations, determined to prevent the PLANTs from producing their own food, begin intimidation maneuvers. At this point ZAFT and its mobile suit forces make their combat debut, overwhelming Earth's mobile armors and driving the forces of the sponsor nations out of the PLANTs' airspace. Captain Halberton of the Atlantic Federation's 4th Fleet (which will later become the 8th Fleet of the Earth Alliance) recognizes the mobile suit's effectiveness in space combat, and proposes the development of the "G series." The proposal is rejected by Halberton's superiors, but some of them provide assistance so that the project can proceed in secrecy. Chairman Clyne issues demands for complete autonomy and trade equality to the sponsor nations. The PLANTs promise to halt resource exports to Earth should no response arrive by January 1 of the following year.
C.E. 70
1.1
As they meet with representatives of the sponsor nations, PLANT Supreme Council members are targeted by a terror attack, and one council member is slain. Blue Cosmos claims responsibility, but when it becomes clear that the sponsor nations were behind the attack, the PLANTs halt all resource exports. The long and costly process of digging out the hundreds of N-Jammers dropped on Earth during the war began. While many of these would eventually come to be dug out, this futile effort was halted within the next five years and N-Jammer Cancellers were adopted as the best means to counter the effects of the N-Jammers rather than trying to physically remove them.
4.5
Gilbert Durandal is elected as the new Supreme Council Chairman.
5.10
Chairman Durandal pardons several ZAFT soldiers who chose to defect during the Second Battle of Jachin Due in the name of peace. The Chairman expresses his understanding of the circumstances and allows them to return to service.
7.2
Blue Cosmos begins surfacing again as its members speak out against Coordinators through occasional acts of violence. The Treaty of Junius Seven's fatal flaw was not disbanding this organization. Several members were arrested for their crimes, but the acts continued and grew more frequent.
10.8
With the population still furious over the annexation of Central America, as well as the lack of government response to the devastation caused by the Break the World Incidents, several areas of the United States of South America enter open sedition. The Earth Alliance-sponsored government appeals for help. As a result, EA peacekeeping forces control much of the USSA for the following years.
C.E. 73
1.1
Both ZAFT and the Earth Alliance continue to build up their arms and develop new mobile suits. Both sides are careful about following the guidelines layed out by the treaty.
3.5
ZAFT technicians submit designs for a new battleship and construction begins on this experimental ship.
7.6
The construction of ZAFT's new battleship is delayed due to several atmospheric reentry mechanism issues and flaws in the design of the bridge and special MS catapult.
8.20
The Earth Alliance continues to build up arms as well. However, certain units within the Alliance, under direct control of LOGOS, receive a new battleship and other armaments.
9.14
Construction of ZAFT's new battleship, christened the Minerva, is completed. At this same time, ZAFT completes five new ZGMF-X series Gundam units.
10.2
ZAFT prepares for the launching ceremony of the Minerva at Armory One. Armory One Incident. As Chairman Durandal and the new Orb Representative Atha meet at the PLANTs Armory One to discuss the need for power in the post-war era, three pilots of unknown allegiance at the time, infiltrate Armory One and steal three of ZAFT's ZGMF-X series machines. A battle ensues as the three mobile suits attempt to escape. As a direct result of the theft of the machines, the launching of the Minerva occurs earlier than expected. The ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam is also launched. Several other machines make their first combat debut including the ZGMF-1000 ZAKU Warrior and the ZGMF-1001 ZAKU Phantom in an attempt to retrieve the stolen machines. The three stolen machines are not recovered and blow through the side of the colony during their escape. They rendezvous with an unknown class of battleship carrier. The Minerva pursues the ship referred to as Bogey One.
10.8
ZAFT and EA intelligence detected movement from Junius Seven, which was supposed to be in a stable orbit. Calculations predict the eventual collision with the Earth. ZAFT forces take immediate action and begin deploying forces to attempt to soften the colonies decent. Opertaion Break the World. A ZAFT squadron is dispatched to break up the colony, and was soon reinforced by the approaching Minerva's mobile suits. The force was engaged in battle by a rogue squadron of ex-ZAFT soldiers. It soon becomes apparent that the rogue soldiers are responsible for causing the colony to move out of its stable orbit. Operations to break Junius Seven into pieces are compromised. After repelling the rogue soldiers, the ZAFT forces successfully break Junius Seven into two pieces as it begins entering the upper atmosphere. The Minerva continues to pursue the debris into the atmosphere, breaking it into smaller fragments with it's positron cannon. The destruction is still insufficient, and the remaining pieces collide with Earth, destroying Athens, Philadelphia, Quebec City, part of the Great Wall of China, Shanghai, Rome, Prague and numerous other locations. Pieces that hit the sea cause massive tidal waves. The most severe damage occurs near the equator. In the aftermath of the disaster, ZAFT immediately sends humanitarian aid to Earth. Lord Djibril, the new leader of Blue Cosmos, takes advantage of the incident and divulges photographic evidence showing the rogue ZAFT units executing the drop. He starts to manipulate the public opinion against Coordinators, blaming them for the disaster.
10.10
Fueled by public opinion, the president of the Atlantic Federation sends a list of demands to the PLANT's Supreme Council. The PLANTs were accused of harboring the terrorists that caused the colony to drop. The demands required the PLANTs to dismantle its military, dismiss the current Supreme Council, and to submit to Earth Alliance inspectors. Chairman Durandal attempts to find a diplomatic solution, but the Earth Alliance military begins deploying its forces and the PLANTs are forced to man their defense line.
Before the expiration of the ultimatum, the Earth Alliance attacks the PLANTs, officially starting the Second Bloody Valentine War.
10.11
The Earth Alliance main force launches its battleships and mobile suits against the PLANTs defense, which manages to repel the attack. An ambush team moves to attack Aprilius One, the location of the Supreme Council. A unit of the EA's new GAT-04 Windams make their first combat debut, carrying nuclear missile launchers. A Nazca-class vessel equipped with a Neutron Stampeder and stationed on standby, repels the attack. The Stampeder causes all nuclear weapons in the ambush fleet to detonate prematurely, thus completely destroying the fleet. Having failed, the Earth Alliance forces withdraw. With the nuclear weapons detonating in close proximity of the colonies, PLANT's citizens become outraged and began pushing for a retaliatory strike against all Naturals. Chairman Durandal, fearing the possible escalation of the conflict, uses the help of Lacus Clyne to calm the people. Unknown to the public at this time is the fact that this Lacus Clyne is not the real Lacus. Shortly after the incident, the Chairman makes his way to Earth.
10.12
Operation Spear of Twilight. Earth Alliance forces had begun surrounding ZAFT's terrestrial bases at Gibraltar and Carpentaria, but were stalled by the previous defeat of their forces. ZAFT forces gather in the atmosphere to commence a drop operation to support Gibraltar and Carpentaria. They meet a fierce opposition from the remaining Earth Alliance forces stationed on the moon, but are able to push through and defeat the forces surrounding Gibraltar and Carpentaria.
10.16
Under pressure from public opinion, now fiercely against ZAFT, the Earth Alliance sought an alliance with Orb, which possessed a technically advanced and powerful military force. The majority faction of Orb's governing body, led by Prime Minister Unato Ema Seiran and his son Yuna Roma Seiran, supports this alliance. Other parties such as the new Representative Atha, remains fiercely opposed. Later this same day, Orb declares it will sign into the World Security Treaty Organization.
10.17
The Minerva remains docked in Orb after the damage it received during the Break the World Incident. Given the current situation the ship makes ready to depart from Orb immediately. After leaving Orb territorial waters, the Minerva is ambushed by a vast Earth Alliance fleet. The Earth Alliance deploys the massive mobile armor YMAF-X6BD Zamza-Zah, equipped with a positron beam deflector, for the first time. An Orb fleet is deployed on the border to prevent the Minerva from retreating into its territory.
10.22
Unknown to the public at the time, an attempt on the true Lacus Clyne's life is made at her residence in Orb, by a special forces unit piloting ZAFT's new ASH machines. The attempt fails and the machines and their pilots are either destroyed or self destruct when the ZGMF-X10A Freedom intervenes. It is unclear if ZAFT was the organization behind this attack, however all evidence points in that direction. Mean while, the person posing as Lacus Clyne begins her musical tour around the Earth to boost the morale of ZAFT soldiers.
10.27
On route to the Black Sea ZAFT base, the Minerva breaks through Earth Alliance forces stationed in the Middle East area. The Battle of Gulnahan. ZAFT forces are deployed to destroy a land-based Lohengrin positron cannon fortification in the Gulnahan ravine, east of Suez, known as the "Lohengrin Gate". The destruction of the fortification results in the liberation of Gulnahan. The locals quickly repay the brutality and cruelty that had been shown to them by the EA by executing numerous captured soldiers and officers.
11.1
The Battle of Dardanelles. En route to Gibraltar, the Minerva is intercepted by a combined Earth Alliance and Orb fleet in the Dardanelles strait. Despite the Orb Union's historical non-aggression policy, it cannot refuse orders from the Earth Alliance and a massive fleet comprised of several carriers engages the ZAFT ship. The ensuing battle sees the launch of the three stolen ZAFT Gundams and the attempted intervention of the first ship of the Archangel class, the Archangel as well as the Freedom Gundam. Both ZAFT and the combined EA and Orb forces take heavy losses. The Earth Alliance eventually disengages the battle after most of their mobile suits are destroyed or disabled. The Orb fleet follows suit.
11.3
The Battle of Crete. The Minerva continues on route towards Gibraltar, only to be intercepted again by the same combined EA and Orb naval fleet. The Archangel and Freedom try again to stop the conflict. The ZGMF-X31S Abyss is destroyed in the ensuing battle, while the Minerva suffers critical damage.
11.11
The Destroy Crisis. The Earth Alliance's massive mobile suit, GFAS-X1 Destroy piloted by an 'Extended', is used it to completely level several cities in Western Eurasia. These former Eurasian Federation territories that had sided with ZAFT, in addition to all ZAFT forces that engaged the Destroy, were obliterated so as to show the rest of the Earth Alliance the result of siding with ZAFT.
11.13
The Battle of Berlin. The Destroy is intercepted once more by ZAFT over the city of Berlin. The ZAFT units are no match for the destroy's massive and numerous energy weapons and multiple positron shields. Berlin is heavily damaged while the ZAFT forces are completely annihilated. Several other Earth Alliance forces are deployed, including the stolen ZGMF-X24S Chaos. Soon after, the Archangel arrives and commences efforts to stop the Destroy. The Minerva also joins the fray and the Destroy and Chaos are both obliterated. Berlin is nearly wiped from the face of the Earth due to the Destroy's rampage. This leads to increasing tension between the Atlantic and Eurasian Federations, ultimately leading to the break down of the original Earth Alliance. This essentially leaves the Atlantic Federation to fight ZAFT on their own. Supreme Council Chairman Durandal reveals the organization LOGOS as the cause of the war via international television broadcast almost immediately after conflict in Berlin ceases.
11.18
The ZAFT campaign to destroy LOGOS and Blue Cosmos officialdom begins. Several Earth Alliance naval fleets defect and station themselves at Gibraltar shortly after the news conference. Operation Angel Down. ZAFT HQ labels the Archangel and Freedom as hostiles, claiming they only caused confusion during numerous conflicts. A force consisting of one of ZAFT's Compton-class land battleships, the Uhlenbeck, and the Minerva strikes against the Archangel as it makes way for orb and are apparently successful.
11.23
Operation Ragnarök. The combined ZAFT and defected Earth Alliance forces mobilize for a siege of Heaven's Base, the headquarters of the LOGOS benefactors. The base is given the choice of handing over LOGOS members and dismantling or being attacked. Before the time limit expires the ZAFT/EA forces are answered by a sudden attack, followed by a great number of mobile suits and five GFAS-X1 Destroy units. Both ZAFT and many of the anti-LOGOS EA ships suffer heavy damage and numerous casualties. In response, ZAFT launches an attack from above by dropping a great number of mobile suits from Earth's orbit. LOGOS and it's sympathizers respond by activating the powerful Nibelung weapon, which releases a massive energy burst and destroys the orbital drop force, while crippling the other forces. Eventually, ZAFT forces gain the upper hand when they are able to successfully penetrate the base. Lord Djibril abandons the other LOGOS members and flees towards Orb. His fellows are captured and sentenced.
11.24
Operation Fury. ZAFT intelligence tracks LOGOS leader Lord Djibril to Orb, where he is being sheltered by the Seirans. Carpentaria forces gather for an invasion. Chairman Durandal issues an ultimatum demanding that Orb hand over Djibril before he escapes and unites with the remaining LOGOS benefactors at the Moon via Orb's Mass Driver. The Seirans responds to the ultimatum with an obvious lie. The blatant disregard of the ultimatum enrages ZAFT leaders and the Chairman authorizes the invasion of Orb to begin. In the confusion of the ensuing battle, Djibril manages to escape to space in the Seirans' private shuttle. While there was no official confirmation that Djibril had indeed escaped, Chairman Durandal believes this to be true and begins to send forces back to space. Representative Cagalli Yuula Atha addresses the public regarding ZAFT's invasion force. The broadcast is interrupted by Lacus Clyne and Chairman Durandal, only to be further interrupted by Representative Atha and another Lacus Clyne, stating that she still supports the surviving Archangel and goes on to express her disapproval of both Djibril and Durandal. This causes much confusion among the public regarding the young Clyne.
11.30
Having escaped to the new Daedalus lunar military base on the far side of the Moon, Djibril authorizes the activation of the Requiem super-weapon. Fired from the fixed moon site, the beam is then bent at each relay point using Geschmeidig Panzer systems installed in abandoned colonies. It is eventually guided to the primary target in this manner. Orders are given to fire at the PLANT's capital, Aprilius One, in order to eliminate the Supreme Council and Chairman Durandal. Due to combat at the last relay station between the EA escort fleet and ZAFT forces, the beam goes slightly out of alignment, hitting Januarius 1 to 4. This causes Januarius 4 to collide into December 7 and 8 in its destruction, killing an estimated 900,000 Coordinators.
12.1
The Battle of Daedalus. While Djibril waits for the Requiem to be recharged for another shot, Chairman Durandal orders the ZAFT Moon Fleet to attack the relay stations in retaliation for the Requiem attack. ZAFT forces attack furiously but come to a stalemate with the defending EA forces. The Minerva launches a surprise attack on the Daedalus lunar base as a diversionary tactic to allow the ZGMF-X56S Impulse to infiltrate the base and destroy Requiem's firing chamber through a connecting service tunnel. The EA forces scrambles all fixed defenses, including the last three GFAS-X1 Destroy units and countless mobile suits and mobile armors. ZAFT succeeds in destroying the firing chamber for the Requiem. Djibril is spotted boarding the Girty Lue(Bogey One), but the ship is destroyed just as it takes off.
12.2
The remaining Earth Alliance forces surrender and are treated rather well by the ZAFT forces.
12.10
The Destiny Plan. Chairman Durandal appears in a global broadcast aboard the ZAFT mobile space fortress, Messiah. From Messiah, he address the Requiem attack on PLANT, and assures the world that LOGOS has been defeated. However, he announces that there is one more enemy that humanity has to face, an enemy he addresses as "ignorance and ambition", claiming that humanity itself is the cause of its own suffering. Thus, the Destiny Plan is revealed. Under this plan, every human and Coordinator will be assigned the role that they are the most genetically suited to.
The world is shocked by such news and riots break out across the globe amidst much confusion. The Atlantic Federation is the first to decide not to follow the Destiny Plan. The Arzachel Lunar Base mobilizes its remaining forces in defense while the President of the Atlantic Federation, who is stationed at the Arzachel Base, attempts to contact Chairman Durandal. The captured and repaired Requiem super-weapon is fired by Chairman Durandal at the Arzachel Lunar Base destroying the base, most of the Alliance fleet, and killing the Atlantic Federation President as well. Chairman Durandal brands those who oppose the plan 'enemies of humanity'. Subsequently, the Orb Union and the Kingdom of Scandinavia are the only other nations that reject the Destiny Plan. Orb soon mobilize their military forces to destroy Requiem, accompanied by the Archangel.
12.11
Two simultaneous attacks are carried out by the Orb fleet and the Archangel. The targets are the first relay station and the Requiem itself. Both operations face heavy opposition, but a handful of ZAFT soldiers defect and aid in the eventual destruction of Station One.
Those attacking the Requiem itself had less success. The combined fleets of Orb and ZAFT defects were unable to penetrate the positron reflector shield now protecting the super-weapon.
Without warning, ZAFT's mobile fortress Messiah appears from behind the moon and fires its Neo-GENESIS super-weapon, resulting in the destruction of part of the combined Orb and ZAFT fleet.
12.12
The Battle of The Messiah. The Archangel, the returned Eternal and the Orb fleet regroup and begin engaging the ZAFT forces defending the Messiah space fortress as well as the Requiem. However, with Requiem's second relay station moving closer into firing position, aimed at the Orb Union, time is short.
The Minerva engages the Archangel and is sunk. Both opposing sides suffer numerous casualties and the Neo-GENESIS is fired again on the combined Orb fleet. However, the Messiah and Requiem are eventually destroyed. The Messiah crashes into the moon. Chairman Durandal does not escape the wreckage.
The true Lacus Clyne calls for an immediate cease-fire, thus bringing an end to all of the conflicts.
12.13 ~12.31
Talks of peace begin as new leaders of the world powers are elected across various nations. Relief to the nations of Earth greatly effected by the Junius Seven drop, continues to come from more fortunate Earth nations and the PLANTs. Public opinion on the war is mostly negative, and while a majority of Naturals and Coordinators begin to grow more tolerant of each other, there are still those who cannot let go of their hatred.
C.E.74

Representatives of both the PLANTs and the Earth Alliance met at the ruins of Junius Seven to sign a formal treaty known as the Treaty of Junius Seven. The plan came from Prime Minister Rindman of the Kingdom of Scandinavia and was accepted by all involved parties. This officially brought an end to the First Bloody Valentine War. The treaty outlined several important points. All national boundaries on Earth were to be restored to status quo ante bellum. Thus, both the Orb Union and the United States of South America, which were seized by the Alliance, became independent nations again. However the Atlantic Federation maintained its control over Central America and the Porta Panama Mass Driver. ZAFT was required to leave the terrestrial areas it conquered during the war. However, they were allowed the continued occupation the Gibraltar and Carpentaria Bases on Earth. Orb was forbidden to transfer any military technology (either in weapon shipments or aid) to either the Alliance or ZAFT. Nuclear technologies (N-Jammer and N-Jammer Canceller) were prohibited from military use. There would be a limit as to how many mobile suits could be built and maintained by both sides. The use of Mirage Colloid was also banned.

Nuclear power plants on Earth were fitted with N-Jammer Cancellers to restore their operation and satisfy the power needs of the severely crippled terrestrial economy.
4.1
The long and costly process of digging out the hundreds of N-Jammers dropped on Earth during the war began. While many of these would eventually come to be dug out, this futile effort was halted within the next five years and N-Jammer Cancellers were adopted as the best means to counter the effects of the N-Jammers rather than trying to physically remove them.
4.5
Gilbert Durandal is elected as the new Supreme Council Chairman.
